Our beliefs*In essential beliefs, we have unity. "There is one Body and one Spirit ... there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism and one God and Father of us all ... " Ephesians 4:4-6
*In non-essential beliefs, we have liberty."Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters ... Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls...So then each one of us will give an account of himself to God ... So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God." Romans 14:1, 4, 12, 22 *In all our beliefs, we show charity." ... If I hold in my mind not only all human knowledge but also the very secrets of God, and if I have the faith that can move mountains- but have no love, I amount to nothing at all." I Corinthians 13:2 (ph) |
Our History |
Trinity began as a Sunday School in the home of Hoyt Boyd, 1914 E. 10th Street, Vancouver, Washington, in the spring of 1942. Property was purchased at 811 “ V” Street, and construction began in the fall of 1943. Wartime conditions made getting supplies difficult, but a basement was built with cement blocks and eventually a frame building was moved onto it.
Trinity grew by reaching out to the people who moved to Vancouver during World War II to work in the Kaiser Shipyards. Ever since then, we have been welcoming both long time residents and new comers to join us. So if you are new to Vancouver or you’ ve lived here all your life, Trinity may be just the church you’ ve been looking for. Trinity was the first Southern Baptist Church in Vancouver. We are affiliated with three groups of churches:
